On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, MSS presented “State of the Nonprofits,” an informative presentation designed to engage business professionals with the nonprofits of Midland County by encouraging collaboration, volunteerism, and financial support.
The luncheon featured the results of a robust, professional research study commissioned by MSS and conducted by leading nonprofit consulting agency, Dini Spheris, of Houston. Guided by a steering committee of business and nonprofit leaders, this study gave us the tools to better understand the range of services, opportunities, obstacles, and successes nonprofits are experiencing amid the exponential growth in our community.
Following the presentation, a panel of community leaders discussed the implications of the results, the role of nonprofits in addressing the challenges of our community, and ways in which the for-profit and nonprofit sectors can collaborate to make a greater impact.
Along with some actionable strategic goals, it is our hope that the audience gained a better understanding of how everyone fits into the unique nonprofit landscape that sets Midland apart from anywhere else in the world.
